This 3 night retreat in March 2025 is for Mothers and Daughters to spend a wonderful weekend celebrating Mothers Day together, amongst the beauty of the South Devon coastline. There's nothing more 'bonding' than stepping into the cold British sea in March, laughing at each other as you squeal with delight, and sharing new experiences together.
Take time to step away together from your busy lives, immersing yourself in fresh sea air, feeling the salt spray on your skin and taking a life-affirming plunge into the ocean. During our March retreat, we'll spend our time practicing energising and restorative yoga, suitable for all ages and abilities, walking the spectacular coastal path and enjoying cold water swimming in the South Devon sea.
Age requirement 10 years+
Retreat begins Friday afternoon any time from 3pm, and ends on Monday at 10am...
...but feel free to leave on Sunday evening if you have to get home for school/work
Additional nights accommodation available on request.
During your Mother/Daughter retreat in Torcross, our in-house teacher will run multiple classes every day in our own private yoga studio within the retreat home, next to the beach. We offer a mixture of energising and restorative sessions and end each day with the ultimate in relaxation: Yoga Nidra.
Natalie, your Yoga Instructor, teaches all ages and abilities across a range of classes, so is very competent instructing children (her own daughters are 13 and 11), as well as the older age groups (mothers and grandmothers!) Her Gentle Yoga classes have dedicated customers in their 70's and 80's so there is certainly no upper age limit! Bring your Gran too! We have bolsters, blankets, and yoga chairs to enable every one to join in.

The world famous South West Coast Path passes right next to our front door. On both Saturday, and Sunday, we'll pull on our hiking boots and trek across the rolling fields and dramatic cliff tops of South Devon.
We are always armed with thermos flasks, offering plenty of opportunities for warming refreshments on hidden coves, sheltered amongst the rocks and caves of some of Devon's finest beaches.
Our retreat will include leisurely daily hikes of up to 5 miles, allowing plenty of time for photos and snack stops. While the coastline can be quite rugged in places, the path is well trodden and suitable for all. Be sure to pack your waterproofs and woolly hats!

For the adventurous among us, there are opportunities on both Saturday and Sunday for memorable and invigorating cold water wild swimming experiences.
At Yoga Field & Sea we dip in the ocean every day, all year round, to take advantage of the many health benefits cold water offers our minds and bodies.
In Spring, the water will be chilly, so we always start off with a safety briefing from our professional water safety team, before heading into the revitalising salt water. We provide hooded towels and flasks of hot tea, both essential for the post swim warm-up. Our retreat house is also just 15 seconds from the ocean shore, so it's easy to head back for hot showers, roll top baths, hot tub or snuggling up with blankets by the log burner.
Water activities are led by our certified team of water sports experts who live and breathe the ocean life. You can find out more about the team, here.

Our talented chef, Janey Syrett, is incredible and is always a massive hit among guests who are always delighted by her fresh, creative dishes. Her dishes are inspired by her years as Head Chef in some of the South West's top restaurants, and from famous chefs such as Yotam Ottolenghi and Tara Wigley.
Throughout your stay, all of your meals, snacks and drinks (not including alcohol) are provided by our in-house chef. You definitely won't go hungry.
We are so lucky to have fresh, wild-caught seafood from the local areas which we offer as part of a pescatarian menu, however we can also cater for full vegetarian or vegan diets.

Advance train tickets are great value, just book your ticket to Totnes. There are multiple direct trains (hourly) from London Paddington. On arrival to Totnes, we advise taking a pre-booked taxi - Whatsapp Steve on 07799 111231 to arrange.
Alternatively if you wish to drive, there is plenty of free parking at The Old Bakehouse and we will provide you with detailed directions before you set off.
